Today marks the launch of the Palm Academy, a new learning platform that offers a range of courses designed to empower individuals in the innovative realm of Web3. With an impressive range of courses covering everything from AI, art, business and activism, to name a few, the Palm Academy courses will cater to skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced making sure everyone has a chance to learn and up-skill to become a savvy web3 player.
The Palm Academy is more than just a place to learn. The Palm Academy unique Proof of Contribution (POC) system allows users to earn tokens that are soul-bound to them (non-transferable token), as proof of their education and contribution to their Palm Reputation. As a member of the Palm community, building your Palm Reputation will shape your access and influence within the PalmDAO in the years to come.

Palm Academy’s inaugural master class is led by renowned activist and founder of Pussy Riot, Nadya Tolokonnikova. The course, titled “Blockchain x Social Change: Empowering Activism in the Web3 Era,” is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the intersection of art and activism, its historical context and the intersection with web3.
Nadya Tolokonnikova adds:

The course “Blockchain x Social Change: Empowering Activism in the Web3 Era,” consists of two live classes on Thursday June 1st + June 8th at 7pm ET enroll.
In the first class, students will explore the philosophical and ideological foundations of decentralization in activism, examining the role of blockchain technology in disrupting traditional power structures. The class will also discuss real-world examples of blockchain-enabled activism for social change, like UkraineDAO founded by Nadya, and the benefits of blockchain for activism, including transparency and accountability in blockchain-based systems.
In the second class, students will analyze the ways in which art has been used throughout history as a means of expression, protest, and activism, and study the impact of art movements and artists in advocating for social, political, and environmental causes, like UnicornDAO founded by Nadya. The class will also examine real-world examples of artists and art projects that have utilized web3 technology for activism and social change.
Students will work on an individual project for which Nadya will provide feedback on selected projects. Students must attend both classes and mint a final art project via NFTrade to be eligible to mint the “Course Complete” POC. (The gas needed to mint the class project is covered by the Foundation via the NFTrade faucet). The minted class projects will go to a PalmDAO.app June 8th to June 12th and vote June 13th to 15th. The winner will receive a 1,000 USD grant from the Palm Foundation.
